Chicago Skyline

The summer season is winding down, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had in and around Chicago! Whether you want to walk the streets of Wrigleyville or drive your GLE out to the suburbs, Mercedes-Benz of Chicago has a few suggestions for enjoying the summer before it ends:

Ravinia Festival

A perennial favorite of city-dwellers and suburbanites alike, Ravinia offers live music and a relaxed environment, featuring concerts playing everything from Rock to Jazz, Classical to Kids, and everything in between. Fill a picnic basket with your favorite nibbles and BYOB, gather your friends, and enjoy a fun afternoon or evening surrounded by your favorite tunes.

Wrigleyville Summerfest

Stroll the historic streets of one of Chicago’s favorite neighborhoods and enjoy great bands, delicious food, and a ton of fun at Wrigleyville Summerfest, August 6 & 7th. A suggested $5 donation to enter benefits multiple local charities, like the Lakeview Pantry and the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, and gives you access to live music, great food, and an interactive Kids Zone for the little ones.

Chicago Air & Water Show

Head to North Avenue Beach August 20 & 21 for the Chicago Air and Water Show — the largest FREE show of its kind in the United States! From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. you can witness the exhilarating feats from the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights, and more! North Avenue Beach is the focal point, but the show can be viewed anywhere along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street.

Taste of Greektown

Another great neighborhood festival takes place August 26-28 in Chicago’s Greektown, where the tantalizing food and spirits from local eateries take center stage. Chicago’s very best Greek restaurants bring you food that’s steeped in old world tradition and presented with a 21st century flair. You’ll also enjoy music from Greek bands as well as entertainment and games for adults and kids alike. Opa!

Butterflies & Blooms at Chicago Botanic Garden

Now through September 5th, head to the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe to experience the Butterflies & Blooms exhibit. Immerse yourself in a habitat filled with hundreds of live butterflies, and enjoy plant species native to Asia, North and South America, and Africa. Get up close and personal with one of nature’s most beautiful and delicate insects — up to 500 butterflies can be seen in one visit!
